COMPETITION NAME:  Me And My Beau                                                                                  STABLE NAME:  Beau                                                                                    COLOUR:  Grey                                                                                                    SEX:  Gelding                                                                                               AGE: 28                                                                                                      HEIGHT:  12.3hh

He taught me most things I now know. Like for instance he could play lame pony and then leave me in a cloud of dust to find grass! I could never do this pony justice. He jumped tracks up to 1.10m but only 85cms with me. He was a speed pony with a nervous rider who had jumped at Hickstead and done mounted games at National Level.

He really is a special pony and he will never leave my heart and I am still jealous to see my younger sister competing him knowing I can't.

COMPETITION NAME:  Irish Drummer                                                                                   STABLE NAME:  Drum                                                                               COLOUR:  Dun                                                                                                   SEX:  Gelding                                                                                                AGE: 13(approx)                                                                                                       HEIGHT: 14.3hh

Drum was a dream come true for me. When I got him I rode him the very first day and thought he was amazing. It then became apparent he was quite scared of everything and with an already nervous me on top things went from ad to worse. We took him to a show and after rearing and leaping across the warm up ring I came off and got concussion (it really was a great start!!) I really couldn't ride one side of him and a few people have now said at the time we seemed to be the worst partnership ever, but we had already bonded together and he was like my "baby" so it had to work. We had a few more successful outings and we realised one thing he really couldn't cope with was groups of horses, so we had to warm up near no-one else at all! Things were definitely getting better and I did my first unaff. intro of which I fell off at the fifth fence and the got a E for accumulated refusals and he then went lame. But once I learnt the whole concept of riding rather than having a ride we soon got better. Everyone now says after nearly 3 years that they thought we could never do any better but now they realise that TLC really does pay off and he is a different pony and we really do work as one. For me that is one thing I really can't here enough. I have put hours of work into him and not had many lessons at all so I feel like we have come so far together.
